Infographic: best beer and dessert pairings
Beer is bitter, desserts are sweet, and never the twain shall meet…
Well, that’s not exactly true according to this infographic, which expertly pairs desserts with a suitable style of beer – so you can enjoy them together.
For instance, Blond Ale pairs best with lemon tarts or lemon shortbread. Wheat beer drinkers will do well to pair their favourite beer with a crème brulee or fresh berries (would they then be beeries?), and IPAs go best with spice cake or caramel apple tart.
For lovers of dark beers, it seems that desserts with lots of chocolate are best, but that probably isn’t too surprising. After all, don’t we often describe a darker beer as having notes of chocolate or toffee? And you’ll often see craft breweries around the world putting out chocolate stouts and porters.
Ever wondered what beer goes best with what kind of pudding? Wonder no longer…
